Self Care Sunday

Over the past couple of months, I have really held myself accountable for having self care days. Even bits and pieces of it during the week. It’s become like a schedule for me. Example: moisturizing my face every single day! One of the biggest self care routines for myself is learning to love my body.

I have been dealing with my weight for 8 years now. I have 0 confidence. I compare myself to all these young girls in their early twenties. Perfect skin, these nice fit bodies! Etc ! For the longest time it would literally depress me because I allowed myself to pick apart my body. I started doing things that helped me feel better about myself.

One of my self care routines is to push myself to do something that is positive for my body and makes me feel good. Whether that be a walk, a hot bubble bath, eating fruit… whatever it might be.

Today I decided to lay out in my yard and catch some sun. Believe it or not, it’s like 80 degrees out here. Welcome to the Southeast where it’s hot in December .

I put on my tie dye tube top, kept on my Nike shorts strut myself outside. I wasn’t 100% wanting to wear bathing suit bottoms as I am extremely self conscious with my butt and thighs. Hey! This is a start though and that’s what matters !!!! I spent about hour outside. Soaking in the sun, wind and the beautiful sounds of nature. In such a short amount of time, I just genuinely felt good. I had people riding by looking at me, but I just ignored .

If you are someone who struggles with self image, I highly recommend incorporating things into your self care routine that pushes you. Taking a walk, wearing something that you always wanted too but was afraid, put on some makeup, drink water, have a spa day… whatever it is that helps you become the better you!!!!

Just know you are not alone. We can be on this journey together !

Talk to you soon. XOXO Shamelessly Brooke
